Yes
I went with the missus to the one stop shop to renew her badge, the office would not accept the passport size photo we gave them, as it was a not recently taken.

I asked if I could take a photo of my missus myself, and give it to them to scan in, but they said no they need to scan a physical photo!

In the end I gave up and simply got a set of passport photos done in Max Spielmann. Besides I did not have a white background handy.

Wonder how many others would have simply done the same, and not worth messing about to save a few quid.

I took photos of our son for his first passport. Took a bit of messing about but got there. For our daughter we went to a booth. Two goes at £5 each later and we had a lovely set of blurred pictures so ended up going to Max Spielman in the end. Just easier!

I did both of my own for my SIA badges and driving licence update, and my son's for his passport. Took them against a white wall at home, light grey background is acceptable :)
I know it only saved a few quid but a tenner's a tenner :)
Plus I was thinking why keep a dog and bark yourself :D

I took my own photos for my shotgun certificate and my driving license last year, simple, tripod, chair, sheet as a backdrop, remote shutter, click, re-size,print, my nearest photobooth is 20 miles away cost of petrol and photos, I did it a lot cheaper., job's a goodun.

After my mum had a hip revision op she needed to renew her disabled badge stuff. She wasnt in ant fit state to go down the high street so i sat her on a suitable stool against a bedroom cupboard door and took a shot which came out pretty well.

Yes that's the sort of lines I was thinking along :)

LOL our cupboards are dark just could not see a suitable background, besides I did not have any ink in my printer nor any photo paper!

By the time I messed about buying ink and photo paper etc, far simpler just get them dome for six quid as the photo place was near by anyway.

I went to our local jessops they did them didn't want the hassle of having to go back to the post office if they were not right

I did my Gran's passport photo. I just stood her against a wall, took down the picture that was usually there, and used the hook to hang a white pop-up reflector behind her head.
