Hi, I'm looking for a cost effective flag and a cost effective way to hold that flag in place. One way would be to use some kind of clip to hold it to the reflector perhaps? What other methods do you use? What are you using for the actual flags themselves?

Sorry for the noob question - just starting out.

It's exactly a knock off of that specific clip that i was after :) My googling skills are failing me though lol. Can't find one. I just get the manfrotto one I guess.

I'm thinking those super cheap light stands you can use for mounting speedlights on maybe a cost effective stand to attach an arm on to in order to hold a flag up too. I'm using one to hold my reflector and it seems to be bearing up to it!

They are 9 quid on Amazon. If that's too expensive use gaffer tape. If that's too expensive then give up.

Really.

Flag = Cinefoil (Rosco trade name) or Blackwrap (non Rosco versions)

If you fit the flag to the reflector it will have much the same limitations as a barn door set, getting it away from the light source is usually a much better choice. A lighting stand fitted with a reflector boom arm is the obvious support solution. But years ago someone gave me some old microphone boom arms, they were perfect for the job.

Oh the multiclip is not too expensive. I was looking more for a cheap thing to use as a flag mate. I will check out the stuff Garry mentioned. Cheers.

If I don't need any 18x12 prints how is it free?

Lol Sorry Jonathan :) I didn't realise how cheap 18x12 prints are!!!! That's the solution right there then :) Thanks VERY much, hope you can forgive my stupidity.
