Hi Guys

Have a couple of hundred .cr2 files recovered from a failed hard drive with recuva, (yes it was the 1 folder that wasn't on my various backup devices!)

cr2's look ok i.e different files sizes etc, but can't open them in anything, either blank or not recognized in PS etc.

Tried various recovery tools but they seem to be more based on getting the files back rather than fixing corruption

has anyone got any recommendations, or would be willing to try a couple of them?

Beer money reward, or charitable donation on offer if they can be recovered!

Thanks

Chris

Noone can repair this as the file is corrupt.

Looked at files with a hex editor (shows the data within the file). Files are totally blank inside. No data at all. :(

thanks for looking guys, it's all very well being able to restore files but not if they are empty!

turns out I had them backed up already in a very non descript place, so got away with it, but lesson learnt!

You owe yourself a beer!!! :D

I never rely on computer hard drives anyway and all my photos are backed as well on DVD discs. Having had a bad hard drive crash with my previous business and nearly lost 3500 clients, thanks to a computer expert recovered them but said the HD was the problem and got a free replacement from the manufacturers ( back then hard drives had 3 year warranty irrespective of the computer one), that really bought home the importance of backing up everything in more than one place
