Hi there,

I have recently purchased both a Sigma 10-20mm and PS CS4, and wondered how you would go about fixing the distortion you get at the 10mm end of the Sigma 10-20.

The most obvious way to me is to go to:

Filter >>> Distort >>> Lens Correction - Remove Distortion (using slider)

I'm always told there is more than one way to skin a cat in PS, so are there other, better ways to do this? How can I minimise loss of IQ in attempting to remove distortion?

Thanks.

Hi,

Unfortunately the distortion at 10mm on the sigma is very difficult to correct sometimes...some really like the "effect" but I'm not too keen.

I tend to stick to 12mm where distortion is very minimal, I then use a great PS plug-in called "PTLENS", costs very little and works a treat !!

Cool, well... I like the effect for fun, but it would be annoying on all landscapes!

It depends what you mean by distortion. Are you talking about barrel/pin cushion or converging verticals? Can you post an example?

Try Transform, Distort. Work OK, but you'll need to crop to get rectangular frame - you should allow for this when taking the photo.
