Hi guys, I have a photograph from last year that I would like to be able to print on 8x10 and I'm having a lot of trouble with getting the ratio right, It needs to fit on the paper correctly without cutting off the dress or my shoe. If anybody could do this for me I would much appreciate it but more importantly if you could explain how you did it would be great!
Thanks in advance

The problem is, you're trying to fit a 3x2 image into an 8x10 box, which doesn't fit.

There isn't enough room around the image by default to get everything in, as you've found.

So, run the crop tool over the image (set to 8x10"), and drag the handles outside of the original image until you get the foot/dress in on either side, then what you're going to have to do is add some more onto the canvas, either at the top or the bottom, using the clone tool in Photoshop, or your preferred tool, or use Content Aware Scale or Content Aware Fill in the newer CS versions of Photoshop.

Just did this quickly using Content Aware Scale, in CS5 (think it's in 4 too)

You can't directly as you end up having nothing in the top of the picture. Unless you have Photoshop CS5 or Elements 9 and use content aware fill ;)

I did much the same as the other, I used transform to add the top and botom a bit, I also took the liberty of pulling a bit of detail back in the dress.
