Dartmoor, North Cornwall coast, Lands End, Roseland Penninsula,
S West Coast Path.

To be honest you're going to get one hell of a list from this post....way too many possible locations to list...personally I'd browse the www for photos & see where you like the look of

Dorset:
You've got miles of stunning coastline for a statr! As mentioned already, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door (but be prepared for wardens asking why you're takig pictures, they seem to think everyone with an SLR must be taking pictures to sell). Corfe Castle is good too. And also Portland, there's some very dramtic views and scenery there. Poole Quay is cool, especially for candid street stuff. Head to Bovington (where I live :D) for pictures of tanks on the training area (there's a few view points), and also the Tank Museum, and Monkey World. Not far from Bovington is the old village of Tyneham, which was deserted during the second world war (the war office forced the occupants out to use the village for training) and has been ever since. Very spooky in places.

There's so many more too.

not on a week day though, you may accidentally get a shot of me and crack your lens.

LMAO. I'm usually drooling at the other side...Sunseekers....mmmmmmmm

Dartmoor and along the north coast of Cornwall have some stunning locations (I have a load of thread in the landscape forum with photos from all around there :D).

thanks to all so far, some places mentioned that i had on my list already, some not

my kinda stuff is coastal + out in the sticks landscape + panoramic kinda shots, grads'n'all (not really fussed on theme parks/houses/villages etc (but thanks!!))

keep em coming :D

cheers

While I think about it: Devon, I went there at Easter. I stayed in Combe Martin, very pretty village, with an Animal and Dinosaur park just outside it which is worth a vist. Not far from there is Ilfracombe, a nice little coastal town, and also Lynmouth and Lynton: 2 villages, 1 up and one down connected by a fernicular railway. Head down for south Cornwall and there's the Lizard etc, all nice scenery, and also Marazion (with St. Michael's Mount).

"The Hoe" and Barbican areas in Plymouth (Devon) attract a lot of photographers. The Hoe is an open space of clean tarmac for parades etc - bordered on one side by Regency mansions and war memorials, the other overlooking the sea complete with lighthouse (open to the public). The Barbican is all cobbled streets and side alleys with steep stairwells and Victorian shops. The only part of Plymouth that did not get bombed in WWII.

Also, just down from The Hoe, we have a beautiful art deco outdoor swimming pool right on the cliff edge which I bet would be fun to photograph.

Anywhere in the area near me: Welcombe Mouth, Hartland Quay, Mouth Mill for great coastal scenery. Peppercombe valley, at Horns Cross on the A39, you have to park at the top and walk down just over a mile, beautiful valley and great stony beach.

Take a look at: http://www.hartlandpeninsula.co.uk/

yeah they drive by our office window on lorries.. which was the butt of many "noahs gone upmarket" jokes when it was chucking it down over the last few weeks..

Where'd you work? I'll wave next time I'm having a pint on the quay :D

Tintagel area Cornwall....can thoroughly recommend it..:)

Haha, we have a similar thing in Plymouth, it's always odd to be sitting down for a pint a mile from the sea to see a £1million yacht sailing past (usually can't see the trailer either).

At least you added some slightly more original suggestions in addition to the same old trite places.

Actually, Seatown is another. A beautiful little dip in the cliffs with a pub, some old rowing boats and gravel beaches. You could go fossil hunting for ammonites and belemnites while you're there too. :D

Portland on a cloudy day with big grey clouds is awesome. Never tried HDR down there, but I reckon it's a goer at some point.

booooode (Bude) has some nice beaches if you catch the light right, heading @7 but its for surfing as I suck balls at landscapes :D

if you do want to come my way and want anything, someone who knows the area or anything, drop me a PM with ** no. and I'll call you ;)

If you don't mind walking you can get to some lovely places where there aren't too many tourists (most of 'em can't be bothered to walk more than 10 feet from the car anyway ).

All in Dorset: Dancing Ledge, Abbotsbury, Worbarrow Bay, Mupe Bay, Hengistbury Head, Ballard Down/Old Harry, Winspit, Chapman's Pool, Osmington Mills, Church Ope Cove, Burton Bradstock (a must a v. low tide!), Lyme Regis, Beer (Devon), Shaftesbury, to name a "few". :D

Stunning old church up there!

And Chapman's pool, there's an old disused church near there too.

That's more like it! - interesting places of Dorset. NB, it's an abbey at Abbotsbury.

I would suggest a visit to Google Earth and a few clicks on the blue squares. TBH, even just in Cornwall, there's enough to keep you busy clicking for a few weeks (if not months or even years!), so get out there and see what takes your fancy.
