Most species of coral reef sharks and rays are facing extinction. A study has found that 60% of the 134 types of sharks and rays associated with coral reefs are in danger of extinction. The main cause is over-fishing.That is something which can be addressed with the will of the goverments in whose marine area they live. The highest at risk are bull sharks and reef manta rays. They can be found in the waters of more than 60 countries,They are at highest risk because they can be easily caught up in fishing gear, Sting Rays are targetted for their meat and skin. Their demise will have serious effects oin the reefs themselves on which more than half a billion people rely for their livelihoods or food.

I think an international body should be able to order countries to reduce fishing and it should be policed rigourously. It sounds a bit naiive,I appreciate but I don't think wildlife..animals/fish birds should 'belong' to any country. They belong to the planet and its incumbent upon governing bodies of the countries they live in to protect them
