Copyright?

Simply put no, if you shoot the original image the copyright is yours.
 
Thought as much. What about an edit that's beyond recognition. Eg.. Adding a sketch filter or something like that. Cheers :) :thumbs:

still no... if it starts with .. they have taken your picture....

if i take your car and paint it and bash it beyond recognition.. is it my car? :)

On your own website would it be tolerable for you to use a TM symbol from a race series to promote your images of that race/series?

No, not generally. You can use a trademarked logo/design with permission, and in my experience with motorsports-related companies, they'll not grant it easily.

If so, then no, I'd avoid using those as they may chew you up for it - not that it was hard for me to find those from all sorts of unofficial webites, personally, I'd not do it without permission (which they almost certainly won't give you even if you were accredited media!)
