It's most likely a standard watermark template. Some agencies stipulate both the agency name and the photographer name (I think Getty do for their editorial stuff?). So when the pictures have been negotiated through Facebook et al they most likely just put the site in as the agency.

Ah I see.

Because you assign Facebook usage rights when you upload pictures there?

"1. For content that is covered by intellectual property rights, like photos and videos (IP content), you specifically give us the following permission, subject to your privacy and application settings: you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content that you post on or in connection with Facebook (IP License)."

I thought that was just so that they can actually display it, rather than them having the ability to 'sell' the photos.

Supposedly, it is (well, not JUST display)... and I'm not aware of them taking advantage of it in another (rights grab) way; I don't pay any attention because I don't upload images to facebook.
But that doesn't change the wording/agreement.... there's no need for 3/4 of those terms.

Honestly, I have no idea why the pics are ©facebook. Even their TOS wouldn't trransfer copyright. I'm unaware of any official facebook photographer employee....
