Copy and pasting ( elements)

This may sound a daft question to some but how do I go about copying and pasting an image to another image I have a pic of a little boy but the background is very plain so would like to put that image against a more striking background hope this makes sence I'm using elements 9

Simplest way in Elements 9 is to open both images in PSE9 then open the project bin, double click the image in the bin you wish to set as the background image,then right click and hold the other image in the bin and drag it into the working space.

Next add a layer mask and using he paintbrush tool paint away the unwanted background using black. change to white to reverse any mistakes.

Alternativly use another extraction/selection technique to remove the layer background.
