Whenever I save an adjusted copy of an image in CS4, the copy gets stored in Lightroom alongside the original.

Is there anyway I can just keep my RAW originals in LR and have the adjusted copies saved in My Pictures or somewhere similar?

the adjusted copy will only get stored in LR if you tell it to.

LR and CS4 both use the same raw converter, are you opening LR files to CS4?

There is an option to edit with LR adjustments with the edited copy stacked next to the original inside LR.

Thanks for the help Tom.

I download from my card into LR, do all the RAW adjustments on the image I need in LR and then do any other adjustments in CS4.

I use the Save command in CS4 and that is when I see the copy stored in LR.

When you say the copy will only get stored in LR if I tell it to, where do I change this, LR or CS4?

I use the Save command in CS4 and that is when I see the copy stored in LR.

Save As... in Photoshop and save the TIFF (or whatever) to your My Pictures folder.

Lightroom will still add it to the catalog, but in that location instead of the same folder as the original RAW file.

If you really don't want to track it in the catalog, delete it in LR, but choose the option to leave the file on disk. Personally, I don't see any reason to do this as you'll want to keep track of your edited copies.

Works for me with LR3 and CS5, anyhow.
