Converting a hi8 to dvd

Is there anyone who could recommend someone to do the above for me?

its my 10 year wedding anniversary and I want to convert the hi8 to dvd as a wedding surprise.

only thing was the hi8 was double speed recorded so there may be some quality issues - so if they could be improved too?

Any local place should be able to convert to DVD fairly cheaply. If you have a Hi8 player and home computer you could do it yourself. I would imagine increasing the quality will be difficult if not impossible. Expect that to be very expensive.

I think he's referring to upscaling and restoring the image quality lost due to it being on double speed.

Something like this will probably do the trick, providing you've got some sort of Hi8 player to connect to it.

I havent got a hi8 camcorder unfortunately i'd borrowed the camcorder from a mate for my honeymoon to venice and thats the only Hi8 tape i've ever had so its not really worth buying one especially for that.

Time to get googling i think

I would doubt there's any consumer equipment out there that would.

If you get googling there are companies who will convert hi8 tapes to dvd.
