So I have a shoot to do, it's a fashion shoot for a student and it's a favour.
The original location was to be a traditional barbers and I was all set to take along portable lighting (a safari, an AD360 and flashguns).

But the barbers has fallen through and she's booked the 'studio' at the college. However, it's all rigged up with brand new LED lighting panels, Should I see what they're like or just take my flash like they don't exist. (they will get in my way a bit if I don't use them, they're on ceiling tracks).

Definitely half and half
Get what you know in the bag
then spend some time on a learning/experiment curve.

Led is almost certainly the future

you may find it an expensive trip............

You're probably both right, I'll take the gear I was planning to take.

Then have a play with the LEDs

The other 'complication' is that the studio is in a gorgeous old building, (the old post office in Sheffield) and I might feel the need to breakout of the studio, so my lights could save the day.

Waste your time with the continuous lights first, then do it properly

Update:
On close inspection, the lights were of decent quality, Bowens Limelites. I used them as BG lights because the BG set up was white seamless and I didn't have enough lights with me to do that justice.

All done, I'll post a thread in photo sharing next week after the submission. My favourite images though we're shot around the building though which is gorgeous.
