Hi Guys

Completely new here

Wanting opinions / constructive criticism on my first few pictures on an SLR but can't figure out how to upload pictures on here?

I'm on an iPad Don't have a laptop

Thank you in an advance

You need to upload your images to Flickr, select the image, click open in photo page, then click the arrow that points to the right, then click bb code. Select the size 1024 x Then copy the bb code and paste it in here, and the image will show.

Ahh is that classed as a link? I've got to have posts before I can add links apparently?

Ok, just click the button "upload a file" which is next to the post reply button, and upload direct to the post. Not as good quality as Flickr, but it will do until you have more posts.

Realised my last reply was my 3rd post, thank you! Have I done it right?

Still not quite right
Are you copying the bb code?
Did you change the size to 1024?

Yes did both, for some reason it seems to be playing up when copying it, usually good with technology I will try that another day and upload the other way you suggested this time around!

Thank you for your help

Sometimes on my ipad I need to have 3 or 4 attempts in order to copy the whole code. I usually need to select what I can, then drag across to the right, then across to the left, or it won't copy the full text.

Exactly what I'm having to do also. I copy it all though then paste into here but it just stays as a link
Definitely on the 1024 option also

Strange, now I'm confused.
When I drag it to the right, a have to drag it right out the box and onto the side of the page before it copies the full text.
Don't need to do that on my android phone though, only my ipad.

Could it be because I'm on Flickr on safari and not the app?

What settings did you use for this shot? You've got good movement on the water, but the image isn't sharp.

Off the top off my head it was 1 second shutter speed, f/22 and iOS 200, bit blurry as I didn't have a tripod at this point

Ah, no tripod explains it then. You need a tripod for this type of shot. Plus, f22 is a bit small. I'd go for f8 or f11 if possible.

I know Still wanted to play though, images were coming out white when I went for a higher aperture?

Over exposed. You could have reduced ISO to 100 and used f16
ND filters are used in order to get a low shutter speed in sunny days without having to resort to a small aperture.
Do you have a tripod now?

unfortunatly the camera I'm using at the minutes is a Nikon D50 and 200 is its lowest iOS, I will have a look at filters! Not heard of them as yet so thank you

Do you guys not have a web browser with the 'preview' function to test this with? Seems crazy to me to keep posting links in the hope the image displays.
