i have got 2 old hp zr22w screens (displayport & dvi inputs only no hdmi) that i'm hoping to connect to my work laptop (has usb-c and hdmi ports) for wfh days - i have got one of the monitors working fine using a basic usb-c to displayport cable which cost about £10 but i'm trying to figure out the best option to get the 2nd screen connected - i'm guessing my best option might be to use the hdmi port on the laptop with an hdmi to dvi cable (not totally sure if this can be done) - i'm not sure if i can use an hdmi to displayport cable, which in some ways i would prefer as those legacy dvi ports are pretty clunky

I'm using hdmi to dvi and hdmi to displayport connection on three computers at the moment, with simple adaptors, without issue. These are an HP laptop, a Dell laptop and an HP ultra compact PC.

I use HDMI to DVI adapters quite a bit as my 27" monitor also only has DVI (albeit DL) and DP. Never a problem until I tried a little ASUS PN51 recently and that could be down to my KVM rather than the adapter.

i have hopefully got an hdmi to dvi lead arriving tomorrow to drive one of the screens from the laptop's hdmi port - i was originally thinking of buying a usb-c to dual DP adaptor to run both screens off the usb-c output but these adaptors seem quite pricey
