Hi all,

I've been doing some freelance sports photography in the football league for a small agency. However they don't send out my images until days after the game which is obviously not much use to the papers!! Unless we want to read old news!! So I've decided I want to try and get my own license. I'm well aware that I can't get a license in the football league due to the dataco rules etc. However I was thinking of getting a conference license does anyone know if these are easy to apply for and does anyone have any contact details for them as I've enquired on the conference website but got no response? Also as the season has started am I already too late to apply for one?

I apologies if these questions come across as basic but I'm still relatively new to the industry.

Thanks in advance

Chris :)

to say you cant get a football league licence is nonsense.. if that was true there wouldnt be a licence system.. think about it... you can get one.. all it takes is hard work ..time and effort..

getting a conference licence is so easy i don know why they even bother wiht the system.. its usually a case of ask and get... but they are hard to get a response from sometimes... the email on the website is correct :)

Thanks kipax I guess it's just a waiting game for them to come back to me then!

I know I can get my own football league license but at the moment I don't have the required number of pics published etc.

Thanks chris

IF (deliberate capitals) there's a phone number for them, use that and explain that you've been down the e-mail route and are now trying proper "face to face" communication rather than relying on someone not hitting delete instead of reply. All too easy for an e-mail to vanish under a virtual pile of others.

What does a conference league license allow? How do you request entry is it the same system as FA license?

I've just got my application through by email now so will be filling that in and sending back. Do you know if I have to send the copy of the public liability insurance with it?

Yes you do need to send a copy of PLI,
I actually printed the stuff off & sent a hard copy as well just to make sure!. Kind regards Graham.

Also, if you PLI runs out mid way through the season you will need to send them a copy of the renewal certificate to update their files.
