My Hard drive on my macbook pro is almost full. I am just about to delete some useless files and back up photos etc...

But I am just wondering what it the 'other' section about?

I presume this is just system files? 223.3GB seems like a lot for system files.

This is anything that doesn't fit the other definitions but can be back ups

Also go to your itunes /preferences/Devices....and view your device backups. Delete unneeded copies of device back ups.

I';d run DaisyDisk or OmniDiskSweeper.

Second is cheaper (free). First is prettier.
