Hi All
would the components I've picked be ok for a half-decent PC for Lightroom/photoshop :

Intel Core i7-10700K Desktop Processor 8 Cores up to 5.1 GHz Unlocked LGA1200 (Intel 400 Series Chipset) 125W (BX8070110700K)

MSI MPG Z490 GAMING EDGE Wi-Fi Motherboard ATX, LGA1200, DDR4, LAN, 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5.1, USB 3.2, Lightning USB, Type C, M.2, RGB, DisplayPort, HDMI, Gen 4 Ready, 10th Gen Intel Core

Corsair CMK32GX4M2Z3600C18 Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 DRAM 3600MHz C18 AMD Ryzen Memory Kit - Black

Cooler Master Hyper 212X Cooling System - Optimised Heat Sink Fins - 4 Continuous Direct Contact Heat Pipes, Durable POM Fan Bearing

I would use the case and hard drives and power supply from my old PC would I need a graphics card or would the onboard one be ok

thanks, Sean

Decent enough. I'd add a fast nvme SSD, at lest 500gb or 1tb for system and working images. If you're running lightroom then AFAIK there's no benefit from a decent graphics card, but if you want a 4k screen then it might be better to have something better than onboard.

Couple of things
is the power supply good enough for the new system ???
what is your current GPU, the prices at the moment are dropping but are still way above RRP
The CPU on board graphics will be meh

The CPU and Motherboard are two generations behind.

Get an i5-12400 and 12th gen capable motherboard.

Don't bother with a 'K' CPU as they're only for people interested in overclocking; buy a standard i7-10700 instead.
A Z490 board is over-the-top for what you need and a B460 would be more than enough.
The RAM is faster than necessary and AMD-optimised so probably more expensive than need be.

The problem is that you're looking at non-current technology so your choice of components becomes more limited.
If you go for a 12th gen CPU & mobo, as fujilover suggests, then the on-board graphics are supposed to be much better than earlier generations but I don't know just how much.
