Please let me explain, I was in the student quarter of Preston wondering through the charity shops looking for something interesting to immortalise in digital pixels. This got me thinking, why we dont run a competition thats both fun and will aid a local charity.
So I thought:-
TalkP People.. in fact anyone , go into a charity shop and buy an object of your choosing, of less than £1 or the world currency equivalent. Also if the charity does not have a shop etc then they donate an object of similar value. (you have to stick to the £1 rule because its a theme) Im looking at a misbegotten object thrown on the discarded pile of memorial flotsam to be raised and reborn as an object of beauty, for the artist to show the true aesthetics of something thrown in a box of brick ah brack ( I dont even think thats a word lol !!).
Now this is important, explain to the person serving behind the counter that you have to photograph what you are buying in situe (before you touch it or purchase) and if possible the seller holding the object or next to them. Why so elaborate? Simple gives you a before - during after or 3 categories. In other words I want to spread the love, or in this case the prize donation good felling karma however you look at it.. Ill explain later.
So the good people of TP set up a paypal donation button, not hard theres plenty of plug-ins and for each photo , and for each category that is entered you pay £5 ( or worldwide equivalent.. this is getting repetitive lol )
Heres the love spread part.. There will be only a first prize for each section - category.. One picture, then these will be sorted into 1st 2nd - 3rd, so the winning print in each will be .. Photo A in section 3.
The winning photo gets two / thirds of the prize money (which I thought was sort of appropriate) the rest dived in an appropriate way, and TP print ( with Talk Photography on it )a cheque for the charity to the winner, to present to the shop / spokesperson etc and all the toggers in the area turn up to shoot the event
( sorry no prize other than kudos and the feeling of Paparatizness 
It means that you will be helping charities even if you dont get a sniff at a prize
You will be looking for Photographic aesthetics in common objects
You will feel good about yourself and perhaps even help someone through your passion.
Fill in the gaps if you have any ideas that can make this more interesting please .

well edit out the paypal ?.. or TP set up an auction for the print on ebay ? and same as a bove ? Possibly ?
