Hi,
I have just bought a Tokina AF 300mm f2.8 ATX-Pro, and a beautiful lens it is!! Only one problem. AF works perfectly well on my D1X, but on the D2X and D2H, AF is intermittent, to the point where I assume that this lens is not compatible with the D2 bodies.
Now, this isn't a big problem, because I'm happy to use it on the D1X in AF, and in manual on the D2's, but it would be really useful if anybody knows of any 'known compatibility' issues, or any tricks that will get AF working.
I've tried entering the lens details in the 'Non CPU lens data' section in the custom menu, but it makes no difference.
The good thing is, the seller, MXV, is happy for me to send the lens back, and they will have it re-chipped FOC at any time during the 12 month warranty period, but Tokina say this could take a month or so
