Anyone have any direct image comparisons. The build quality of the XC isn't so good but there was an interview with a Fuji Japan guy who said the XC line uses the exact same glass.

What are people's experiences?

I have an X-E2 and I want to get closer to planes at Airshows.

I have owned both when using a XP1 and the 50-230mm when using the XT1. IMO, optically I couldn't see much variance in IQ from both, as you have mentioned though the XF is better built though, not a problem for me as I'm careful with my gear.

One thing I would mention though, is the 200/230mm going to be long enough and the XE-2 AF good enough for Airshows? I have been using Nikon for the last 18 months or so and not sure what the recent AF/FW updates where like for the XE-2.

It seems to focus OK with most recent firmware. I've never done any sort of focus tracking with it before, but using the 18-55 isn't long enough as you can see, so it makes tracking difficult when there's such a wide angle even at 55.

I need some practice with this, trying the different AF modes, there's a new tracking and zone mode.
