I am so confused over the following cameras:

Canon SX210
Panasonic Lumix TZ10
Sony HX5

I like cannon but don’t like the speed of shooting, like the Sony as it does full HD video, like the Panasonic as it is middle ground between them both!!

Will I really notice the difference in 720p and 1080i Video from these cameras?

I do also have a DSLR but this will be my pocket camera to go everywhere and also used as my main video camera for kids birthdays, first steps etc.

I just need some advixce from people who actually have these cameras!!

No experience of the cameras but I doubt you will see much difference between the 720p and 1080i - maybe when viewed uncompressed on a huge telly there will be a slight difference. 1080i isn't 'proper' full HD anyway.

I very recently had two TZ9's (a TZ10 without the GPS), one after the other, both of them showed sensor contamination after around 400 images, started off fine then my landscape images were showing bits in the sky, obviously bits getting on the sensor, neither camera had been in dusty conditions, I declined the offer of a third replacement, anyway managed to pick up a new G11 the other day from a high street store for £275, so I'm happy :)

I have the Panasonic TZ7 as my take everywhere camera and love it, I get a lot of shots I would otherwise have missed as I cant be bothered carrying either my D90 or especially my D2x everywhere. I ve been shocked by the lens its good at 25mm and 300mm and the vibration reduction works very well. Dont do video so cant comment on that aspect but certainly recomend it as a pocket camera and after 40yrs as a v keen ameteur tog I m pretty fussy about image quality. I image the TZ9 or 10 is a bit better.

I am edging towards the Lumix more and more!!
