I wonder if any of the computer guru's out there can throw some light on a problem which I have run into recently over the last few days .
Like most people, I suspect I visit a lot of websites where I can make and read comments, in the main I have no problems with this with one exception which has recently arisen and that is on the Independent Newspaper, this does not happen with anything other websites.
In the house , all connected either wirelessly or ethernet I have access to the following.
Desktop PC running win 10 with latest updates and windows defender again with latest updates
HP Laptop running the same
HP all in one PC running the same
Samsung TAB A running Android
Huawei p30 running Android.

Now this is where the fun starts
I can access the Independent site via either the App or the Website and post and read comments on the tablet and the phone without any difficulty.
I can access the web site , read and post comments using either Chrome or Edge using the HP all in one PC.
Using either the laptop or the desktop I can access the website but I cannot read or make comments using any browser, I could possibly understand if none of the Win 10 machines would allow this but when one does and two do not then I am stumped.
All are connected via Virgin 100mb , ethernet in the case of the desktop and WiFi for everything else, I have tried Edge and Chrome on the laptop and Edge , Chrome .Avast and Brave on the desktop all to no avail
It is almost as if on the laptop and desktop there is a setting somewhere which is blocking access to this particular comments section but if there is it is not obvious.
Any bright ideas anyone

Thanks

Chris

There could be a setting somewhere that's preventing access. Edge and chrome are effectively the same browser, can't remember if brave uses the chrome engine. Try Firefox instead.

My initial thought is that with multiple devices and their own browser settings is that that is the issue.... individual browser & cookie settings.

Furthermore where you say read & comment, I surmise that you are a logged in subscriber. Therefore, another possibility is that the subscription cookies allow for a maximum number of accessing devices and that you have used up your allocation?

HTH and that you can resolve it :)

I am usually just logged on with my desktop and tablet, even then I cannot read and comment on the desktop.
I have only logged on with the other machines to see if they work,I don,t normally use them.
I think it is a setting somewhere but it is not obvious.
I had hoped that cccleaner would have helped but it had no effect.

A quuick up date, I have just tried on an old laptop running win 10 but not all that up to date snd it works fine.
I suspect that the program which runs the commenting section is not compatible with the latest update of win 10.
