I am having some colour problems :( When i edit a photo in Lightroom and export it, then view it in Firefox (or basically, anywhere else other than in OS X), the colours are really washed out. So i think i have some issues! What i have changed so far is this:
In Photoshop i have set the colour profile to sRGB, and set the proof setup to 'monitor rgb' and turned on proof colours. When i do this i get the same colours as when i view the image in Firefox and other places, and so its all washed out. What i need is for colours to be the same everywhere! Does anyone have any ideas as to what i need to do?

It sounds like a colour space issue. Changing to sRGB should have fixed it (it did for me), so I would be looking at the "monitor rgb" and proof settings and having a play around with those.

The colour profile for my MacBook monitor is just as default. I find those very hard to change as my eyesight isnt so great :(

I had this problem a while ago, while using firefox. I was instructed to type "about:config" in the firefox adress bar, filter "gfx" and set "gfx.color_management.enabled" to true. Worked a treat.

By setting photoshop to proof the monitorRGB you're basically turning off colour management. Ideally you want to get it turned on Firefox using the info above but that also depends on how good a profile you have to start with. If it's not from a calibration the chances are it's just as wrong as a non-managed system.
