What I am trying to do is simple, convert an existing photo to black and white, then have a few part of it have colour. Can anyone please help? I have tried using this video, but I found that my PS do not have certain options that is present in the older version

Anyone have something more updated and straightforward? Any instructions will be appreciated too.

I think there is more than one way to do it but try this for PSE8.....

open image > layer tab, duplicate layer click OK > enhance tab, convert duplicate later to B/W > use the eraser to remove the B/W section required..

some prefer to change to image by reducing some of the colour options & use the paint brush to paint in/out various elements of the photograph - but the above will get you started.

Thanks. It worked.

PS
Learning photoshop is like taking a new course at uni or something. So many things one can do with it, and it can be a bit over whelming at times. But yeah, I am loving the little bit I have learnt here and there. Thanks.:)
