Heyy, I've got accessments soon on Monochrom film processing & printing..

Well I need some websites? information for the following..

*Understanding of the effect of light on silver halide crystals
*The function of binding agents
*the realtionship between sensitivity, grain size and image quality
*the purpose of 'dye-sensitising'
* the difference between #chromogenic' film and silver halide films

I would be SOOOOOOOO GREATFUL if you guys could help. I have a book but its so longgg...

Well you've got one of the best books for that info. Was my bible a few years ago at college. No real shortcuts on that part of the course I'm afraid, and yes its a hell of a lot to learn. And I hated it at the time

I tended to use wikipedia for quick explanations then wrote all the info down as bullet points to help me remember.

Depends how far into it you want to go, my mentor has a PhD in the effects of light on Silver Halides crystals. There is a lot of science in there if you're so minded.

I totally agree Joshua, I ended up taking the advanced processing and printing as an extra option and loved it.

It's part of our course, I dont exactly want to do it. But i have to lol :|

Oh dear, a philistine, we'll have to burn her as a witch :D

I can see where you're coming from, I'm doing a chemistry degree so to me its very interesting, If you're after becoming a Pro Tog or visual artist or ad exec i guess its not really useful to you though. Good luck.
