Hello all.
Just a little anecdote about finding a lost treasure in my loft. I made a noob post in the Talk Beginners forum asking about my choice of DSLR (many thanks to all who gave advice). Since that post I have indeed become the owner of a 2nd hand 800D with a shutter count of less than a hundred for a very good price from the bay of E. After playing with my new toy (well, not really mine, my nephew's but hey) and snapping anything that moved in the garden I decided to enter the loft to see if my old film gear from the 80's was still up there. It was there, under the dust. Didn't bother with the developing gear but got the camera bag down. Nothing fancy inside, just a couple of Prakticas (MTL5B and B100) with a handful of lenses each.
The real treasure was the Cokin stuff - 'A' series holder, a few adapter rings and a box of filters. I'd completely forgotten about them. All pretty immaculate. Dunno how much use they're going to be but there was a 58mm adapter on ebay for £1.49 so I bought it so I can have a play on the old Canon. A quick search shows Cokin are still going but my stuff is no longer available. I always remember it being a pretty good system and I got some decent results with what was bottom of the line equipment.
Also found some undeveloped film so I guess they're on their way to Filmdev. They won't be any later than '94 so who knows what's on them, if anything.
No real point to this post, just made me happy to find them and thought I'd share. Looking through the viewfinder of that MTL5 certainly was a nostalgia trip. Don't think I'll be going back to film though
