Coastal Locations

Hi all....

Live in Haslemere, Surrey and although surrounded by some fantastic countryside I want to get down to the coast.

Has anyone got any "must go to" areas say on the Sussex, Hampshire coast ?

i would suggest Dungeness, fantastic location very isolated feel. Plus then you have Rye and Camber close by

Ok very edge of Sussex lol, although definitely worth a look if your over this way

Daft question David....but where is the best place to park down there. I know the "main" touristy carpark on the field behind the beach but is that open pre dawn ?

I use the car park right by East Head although if closed, it's a bit of a trek from the 'main' road. I tend to go winter/spring and the barrier has always been operational - tons of dog walkers about etc.

I usually park near the parish church (in Pound Road) and walk along Coastguards Lane to East Head. It's not that far and at that time of the morning you shouldn't have any problem parking.
