Hi all,

Im about to buy a sigma 28mm 1.8 lens. I have got the canon 28mm 1.8 but would like the sigma for a 2nd shooter as it also has macro ability.
I'm slightly put off that it has a clutch focus, but then apparently so does the sigma 30mm 1.8 which I also own. It feels fine when Im focussing (when swt to MF on the lens) but i've read that in some cases (I assume only when set to AF on the lens) you can burn out the focussing motor.

before i go ahead and buy another clutch focus lens could somebody confirm that this is not an issue? It'll be used for 100% manual focus video but if I did end up taking the odd macro shot with it i'd like to know what I need to change or if it is just the MF/AF switch that needs changing.

To be used on a 5dmkii.

Thanks very much.
