Hey , just wondered if there were any professional photog's in the house... I have always been interested in this subject and finally would like to pursue it as a hobby... Any tips on getting started... I looked at some free online course's which were interesting, they spoke of apertures and shutter speeds etc, my little samsung camera doesn't have anything like that so am guessing I need to start saving for a good camera... Any tips on what cameras r good for training with? I would b sooooo grateful of any tips or wise words u can offer... Ta muchly ;-)

Hi and welcome.

Maybe to start with look out for your local camera clubs, your local library should know of any in your area. Next have a look at some photographic magazines they are usually very good at giving some idea on what you want to indulge in, ie photography.
Also take a trip to your local camera store and have a talk to them, if the staff arn't busy they can be a help.

As for which cameras for training with the most popular makes are Canon and Nikon and have a range of lenses to suit every occasion.

As for a price guide only this may help and give a rough idea of costs involved but it can, and usually is, an expensive hobby if just starting out.
