Close up V full screen?

Please can anyone cast some light on a question? which is seen to be a better photo? a close up or a full screen shot?

I like the details of a close up shot, and the overall shot of a standard phot but unsure what the photography world think of these types of photo's?

Same as the previous comment as to the best of your sequence. Try when possible to get the rider turning into or towards you
