Hi all

just starting in editing with PSE8 & trying to get rid of unwanted bits in a photo using the Clone stamp .
Managing sort of ok but am finding that once done the cloned area has lots of bright " speckles" for want of a better word which I can't seem to get rid of .Using the Despeckle filter helps a bit but wonder if I'm doing something wrong ?

Any ideas please ?

many thanks:thumbs:

Hi ya

below is a crop of the problem I'm having . I've not printed any pic's yet so don't know if the bright bits would be visible but they bug me . I'm guessing it's my cloning thats the problem ? Managed to lose most of the background bright bits buy creating a layer , adding gausian blur to that , then using the eraser to bring the dog through but by god , there must be an easier way !

I am a compete newbie to editing so all advice is greatly appreciated

Hi lynne

Not sure what you have done
But maybe try and flatten the image create another layer then use the clone tool on the bits you want to change. its like refreshing and starting again ..this may work for you. ;)

Your not on the pattern stamp tool rather than the clone tool are you, they share the same location on the toolbar.
Failing that check what brush your using.

Possibly the brush mode is set to dissolve.
