For some reason I can no longer open links sent to me in emails Outlook Express. Has a setting changed? I cant find anything. Just nothing happens at all when I click a link now.

do they work if you hold ctrl and click on them (like you have to in word etc)

If i was feeling less constructive I'd recommend a length of string and two tin cans as the height of communications advancement :)

I'm with mark though - quite a few microsoft products now require ctrl - click to activate hyperlinks

Dont work if I ctrl click and the pictures are only showing a red cross now too.

Did windows auto update yesterday I think... have just restarted but no improvement.
email address links open ok, but not links to sites, and/or pictures not showing.

Ah when pics are blocked a bar comes up asking if i want to show them...so that part is ok.

Sounds like security settings then........... not my area I'm afraid, sorry :(

I don't use outlook but in gmail there is a security setting that I have to tell it if I want to be able to see pics and use hyperlinks... I'm guessing there has to be something similary in outlook. Try your settings toolbar... I know not much help.

has it downloaded a security update recently?

Ive gone into the settings and put on "download images etc" so now photos are showing but yesterday it did an automatic update so maybe it was that.

im thinking about doing an autorestore to just before I took the auto download.

Glad your sorted, I Use outlook express and got an "auto update" from windows, luckily my settings were unchaged

Still not working even after re installing Internet Explorer 7.

I was using Firefox but didnt like the way I couldnt see the transitions on the slide shows on my website.

Quite happy with IE7 now it has tabs. But thought it could be the reason I was having trouble.. so reinstalled it.

No good though. All used to work fine with it.:(

Woohoo! FIXED

Googled and found this:

Go to control panel, folder options, file types tab
>
>Scroll down to the URL:Hypertext Transfer Protocols, click advanced, click edit
>and make sure the following is in the application used to perform action box:
>
>”C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\iexplore.exe” -nohome
>
>The same applies for URL:Gopher
>
>DDE should be set to: “%1”,,-1,0,,,,
>Application should say: IExplore
>DDE application not running should be blank
>Topic should be: WWW_OpenURL
>

All works fine now.........Google is your friend!

Glad its sorted, Google is the best
