Hello,

I kno how to edit white and backgrounds in PS and LR, but just looking for advice on coloured background where it hasn't been evenly lit.

Trying different methods but all looking a little false.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

There are so many techniques you can use to achieve this. You may need to use a different one for each part of the background too. Evening up lighting errors is always difficult.

The best thing would be to carefully cut out your image. Using this path as a mask and then doing further work on the background. But without seeing the image, or knowing how complex the subject is even that could need various techniques to achieve what you want.

You can't just use a pant bucket fill for a coloured background either, it will always look slightly false. If you zoom right into an area of the background that you like... see how many different coloured pixels actually make up the overall colour. That is what you will need to replicate to achieve a more real look.
