Cleaning in general

I've recently made the step into the DSLR world with a Nikon D5100. I've also taken the advice to get myself a UV filter for it, mainly for lens protection.

How do I clean it? I tried as hard as I could to keep it clean when I put it on but it's managed to get dusty. Can't seem to get it clean.

It will get dusty like everything else.

Get on google and search for rocket blower and lenspen. With the 2 of them you should be able to sort out most dust problems

I use a rocket blower to blow any bits and then a micro fibre cloth to clean my protectors. Not had any issues.
