Claiming back lost NI / Pension years.

Worth reading up on if you have missed a few years between 2006 -2016.

By a strange coincidence I looked at this a few weeks ago and decided it was so marginal for me and might even be a negative that it wasn't worth reading any further.

I have a problem with this guy. IMO he goes for the good big shock headline but when you look into what's behind it all there's usually so many caveats and restrictions and hoops to jump through that only a small percentage of people could actually do what he recommends. He's a famous guy but I stopped listen to him years ago for this reason. Just my VHO.

if you have a missing year i think it is £800 to buy it and i think he says its worth £200 a year on your pension so you need 5 years to be in profit , the average man lives for 20 years I think are the numbers so you would make this a massive no brainer , you can only buy years between 2006 and 2016 tho.

Don't agree with your thoughts on him though he is a working class supporter and hero.
he was offered a place in the lords but he declined saying he couldn't spare the time away from a young family.

the lords came back to him and said when you are ready get back in touch with us, something apparently they have NEVER done for any other person

Well, we're all allowed our view and mine is that he goes for the clickbait headline way too quickly. No doubt he knows his stuff and is a clever guy but his presentation is not for me and IMO he often verges on being misleading as so often his advice just doesn't stack up... for me.

He's certainly very good at organising distributed denial of service attacks on websites. A very successful one that knocked the sites of many energy suppliers off-line meaning no-one could submit meter readings, and another on the pensions site caused by the article linked to very recently.

I gave £977 for 6 years and I'll get it back in about 33 weeks

Well I suppose that's the thing everyone's different, SWMBO was 8 years short on her contributions and it cost just over 4 grand to make it up and the difference is around £45 a week so so around 90 weeks to break even and even allowing for interest I recon after 3 years it's all profit.

I presume all you folk having to pay £thousands to catch up were not 'contracted out'?
