Sun was out so I thought it would be a good time to try out the old dynax with a test roll of film to make sure it was still ok. Didn't think it wouldn't be but you never know. Found I had left the batteries in again but they were ok (for once).

Loaded it up. It seemed fine. Took one shot and now all it does is make unhappy werrpppp noises.

Rung a repair place and they said transport motor is likely to be bust.

Wish I hadn't given my 404si away now. Could have used that instead. Bought it brand new so I know it wouldn't be iffy. Bum!

Glad it was only 8 years out of date Jessops it's got in and not the slide film I've just bought. :bonk:

Damn..but don't worry get a Canon T70 or Konica TC for £10 (each) :)

That stinks, but at least you can pick up another film camera easily enough for very little money.

My Nikon F801 costs less than the rolls of film I usually put in it.

Dynax will go off to the repair man as it is too good a camera not to fix. Think they said it would be about £40 which seems reasonable considering the quality of the camera and how complicated it is.

Just annoying when the sun is out and you don't know whether that will be the last lot for goodness knows how long!

Sounds good; I hope that the camera gets back to you quickly and in full working order!

Dynax 7. Was always my dream film camera

J'wanna spare one ?

Bit of bleed on the LCD nothin much and despite looking like Darth Vaders Walkman, it appears to work just fine.

Drop me an addy if you want it and I'll send it on.....the de-clutter continues..:)

Oh wait, I don't know my Minoltas, its not a 7, its a 7000 AF....duh

Wow. Yes. I'll take it off your hands if you don't mind swapping it for a few rolls of B & W film

7000 are ok too. Would do as a spare.

7000s kind of remind me of my old centon df300 so it'll be a nostalgia trip :)

Might as flippin well, fat lotta frames that's shot lately..:|

Gonna shoot some flowers with Veronica, see if it slaps some apathy outta me..

Well my address is...

I know the feeling though, probably will do a clear out in a few months time. Definitely a believer in moving on cameras that are not being used.

Who was it that you got to look at your Dynax 7?

Camera Repair Workshop in Milton Keynes took over Minolta's old UK service centre and also gained access to all the parts for about every Minolta camera from the 60's to when they left the market, I've got an SRT-303 with a quite damaged focus screen (from a slight accident with the isoproyl alcohol when I was changing the mirror seal) yet they've spares for it and could do it for a reasonable price, if they can do something like that for a camera about 40 years old then I'm sure they would have the parts necessary for repairing a Dynax 7 (a camera which I want to get one day BTW, I have a Dynax 5 and love it).
