I have 'officially' started my christmas shopping people!!

Or I should say my hubby did,lol This past weekend was the release of the "Nintendo Wii" system here in Canada. My hubby camped out saturday night in front of a Best Buy store. There were only 55 units to be sold at that particular store. Him and a buddy of his went out at midnight, and by 1:30am they had hit the 55 mark. Is that not frigging crazy people!! If it wasn't for my kids wanting it for christmas there is noooo way in bloody hell would we have done this. Why would they release these things just before christmas like this and cause a friggin frenzy like that? Boggles me mind really. Anyways he came home that night and said he felt really old,lol

You guys got that going on over there too, and isn't it friggin nuts!!

Yup, I finished mine too..... and it's all wrapped up :D

ive planned a bit of mine

or rather ive planned to hide under a rock between now and january and wait for this whole christmas hastle to blow over.

We're at the NEC for the good food show next weekend, then have the day off on Monday and will be doing the bulk of ours then. then I had a day out with my Mum when we buy the bits and pieces for my other half and my dad.

I  Christmas!

Conversation went something along the lines of...

"well Mum what do you and Dad want for xmas this year?"
'err dont know... I did have something in mind, but can't remember'
[more otherwise conversation]
'actually I know. What do you call one of those CD disk things that you can watch picture on (translation->movies)'
"I think.. you mean a DVD player"
'ahh yes that's it. One of those things please'

About 2 hours later...

£21 for a DVD player and scart lead from Amazon... Sorted.

I can't even think about Christmas shopping until we're in December! I mean it's November right now - Christmas is weeks away!

Or is that just a man thing

I bought my first present in March and have slowly been getting everything and have now finished although i do still have one more boxing day present to get. I have wrapped half of them, but have run out of ribbon, i will be going to the shops tomorrow to get some more then i will have it all done soon. I start to panic if its done by December.

All but finished ours, just the wifes to get!

I'm still considering how to raise the funds for gifts

edit : Anybody need any extra organs?

I don't celebrate Christmas. :D

I'm usually out of the country working over christmas, this will be the first christmas at home for years. (Now I have changed jobs) I usually do my christmas shopping in the Jan sales when I get home, Everyone tells me what they didnt get and I buy some of it in the sales, saves me a fortune.

Same here :)

17 days till I get my nintendo Wii!

Couldn't you have preordered it from an online shop and just gotten it delivered Jewel? Thats what I've done, preordered it a few months ago, doesn't cost anything until they send out my order and I'm not paying more than anyone else is - only difference is I get to stay nice and warm and not panic about getting a console on release day.

I can't wait :D

As for Christmas shopping, me and sue have done a lot of it, I think theres my brother and sisters to buy for, her brother, my dad, my grandma and thats about it I guess.

I haven't bought sue much this year, apart from a 350D, a TomTom Go, some various other bits and pieces :P Still need to find something for her for Xmas though.

We are a game-free house although there are an obscene number of PC's there.

Trying to decide whether to get wife a laptop or a gem

She does the rest really  How alpha male is that :)

I'm done shopping for my son, I have one thing to get for my husband as we bought ourselves a Mac for christmas (been using it of course). But I leave the presents at work and don't bring them home till right before the big day that way no peeking eyes!

The PS3 is overpriced and overhyped, its going to flop in a big, big way. You made the right choice getting the wii

If someone bumps this thread on the 24th December, that way I wont forget to do my shopping ;)

The only person we havent bought Christmas presents for this year is... me :'(

We've already bought everybody elses - my wife has a new laptop (although she doesnt seem to want to wait until Christmas Day before she opens it for some reason...) my son has a new phone and my baby girl has dozens and dozens of presents...

Just poor old me who still has nothing at all :(

What is a boxing day present? .... And if it is nice, can you send me one as well please?

Its so that I can buy even more presents :) Not sure if I'll be able to be patient enough to wait for boxing day though, I will try
