Forget the coke advert, they played this on the radio this morning ....
(What's your " Christmas trigger" ? )

You know it's really Christmas when you go into the supermarket and they're selling off all the Christmas decorations, cards and artificial trees at less than half price.

And the easter eggs are on the shelves :D

Charging batteries, assembling toys, charging gadgets, usually all on Christmas Eve, that's my trigger. Usually up until at least 3am in the process and usually, back up at 5am.

Worryingly, Super Trouper always reminds me of Christmas:thinking:, not that I go looking for it.;)

Yeah, that is very worrying Dale

That's nothing, I just said, "Alexa, play Abba", and I'm a hardened rocker.

Where's my pills?

"there are moments when I think I'm going crazy".

"sup perper troup perper".

"sup perper troup perper".

You want heavy? another of my Xmas favorites, not heard it played yet though ;)

"Christmas turkey you can stuff it" :D

I learnt only fairly recently that a ‘Super trouper’ is in fact a high powered spotlight used to light performers on stage.

Yes, 'tis true, my wife told me this a few years ago. She used to work as a sound engineer but has a knowledge of all things stagey.

For "heavy", I refer you to my posts in the 'What Are You Listening To Right Now' thread. ;)(y)

Nothing wrong with a bit of white snake, Pink Floyd, led zep, king crimson, ELP at al :)

We don't really celebrate commercialmas but do conform to the extent of cooking a roast for Mrs Nod's Mum at hers on "the day". Far more important to us is the solstice - days getting longer at last! Not going to be so much fun this year - tomorrow I shall mostly be passing through the eye of a needle in preparation for a colonoscopy on Friday...

I've been there before as well. Not fun but not the end of the world! At least they don't use VHS cameras...

I'll post some, just for ewww…

Worst thing is the clear liquid diet for today. I'm hungry!!! (Unlikely to die of starvation though.)

Can't wait for the pics!
Just going for crimbo lunch at my wife's church do, I'll have an extra sprout for you!

I expect to be farting for England after the procedure - I was good enough after the sigmoidoscopy on Monday! Hopefully all back to normal by Saturday...

Go look for the post on Agent Picolax on the web, very accurate, very funny, even if you have suffered it.
If it's your first one you might consider asking for a sedative and tell them you have a typical blokes pain threshold i.e. zero - Best of luck with the procedure and the result(s). Be nice and empty for Christmas blowout :-)

Completely agree about the Agent Picolax tale on (?) Singletrack(?). Apparently the latest concoction is even more efficient! Having been through it before (or, it having been through me?), I should be able to make a comparison, although since the last time was about 20 years ago, my memory of it is a little hazy. First dose is at 3pm - tie down straps installed in readiness. "Brace, brace, brace!"

I've been through both or as you say they have both been through me. The latest powder/liquid is vile, worse than Picolax, which basically just flushed you, this new stuff seems to open your tubes from top to bottom (litterally) during the first dose then just passes straight through during the second does without stopping at all, in fact it would be slower to just pour it down the loo and not bother drinking it. Whatever you do, do not, repeat DO NOT get off the loo after the first does until at least midnight :)

So let me get this straight @Nod your idea of Christmas arriving is having things shoved up your arse?
Its your life live like you wanna live, no one is gonna knock it :D

TBH, I did have the option of leaving it until after the "festive" season but since it's no big deal for us, getting it over with was the better option. At least the camera's smaller than a movement!

Eurgh, brings back a terrible memory for me that. I had what the nurses prepping me referred to as a 'double decker' ... colonoscopy + endoscopy at the same time. I asked to be KO'd for it, that didn't work, I drifted off and then woke up to a doctor knelt up on side of the trolley ramming the tube down my throat! The real worst part was having to drink that Klenprep stuff the night before, I certainly don't envy you that - best of luck! :D The colonoscopy itself didn't bother me at all I will say

Christmas for me starts when I wrestle the 7ft tree out from under a tonne of rubble in the garage and have to un-tangle about 17 sets of lights ... I hold it off long as I can but the pressure from the 3 women of the house always gets better of me. Also - when I hear Fairytale of NY ... though that was way too early this year, the local shopping centre were playing it end of November FFS

Thats always a good one
But yes end of Nov? FFS! indeed

All done so I can now eat again! On the plus side, they removed 3 polyps with no side affects but on the minus side, they want me back for the same again in a month or 2.

Seeing me on TV :cautious:

You missed the feature on "Noel Edmonds Saturday Swap Shop" about it at the time the song was in the charts?:eek:
