Morning Everyone

I'm off to Chester a week tomorrow with the camera club I'm a member of staying for the weekend. I haven't been to Chester for over 20 years I was about 11 I thnk so don't remember much (apart from it's where I got my first camera).

When were there the time is our own so I'm looking for ideas of where to go possibel some of the less obvious places etc. Not sure if I'm driving up or getting a lift so good transport links etc were staying near the railway station. Ideas further afeild would be good too incase I drive up. I will also pass ideas on to other club members in the party.

Thank you inadvance

Mark

Old part of Chester city centre for some night shooting. The canal museum at Ellesmere Port

I'm going to Chester on Saturday. Mainly to watch the Harriers in the afternoon but going up early, crack of, to get some shots.

I'd be grateful for some advice too.

Ha your about 3 miles form me Up the Harriers :) My uncle useual goes to see them not sure if he's going this weekend. I found a like ot a map of a wlalk around the wals yesterday if I can find the site again I'll let you know.

The Waterways Museum is deffinatly on my list as I love canals and boats.

In fact the last trip to Chester was by boat on our way the Chesterfield for a big gathering we went up the ship canal to get there it was quite a memorable trip with around 70 other narrowboats going past great big ships and us all fitting in the locks with space to spare:)

To be honest it's such a small place that you'll not need any transport if you're concentrating on Chester itself and not outlying areas. Most places are pretty obvious when wandering around although do visit the canal area near Telfords Warehouse (pub) and cross the river Dee bridge and have a wander along the side of the river away from the city

One thing I would like to have a go at while I'm up in Chester I want to have a go at light trails as there are a couple of us who want to do it. It seams like a good time to give it s try safety in numbers etc) Can any one recomend anywhere we could give it a try. We will be stopping near the station

Several places along the city walls cross over roads but the walls can be narrow so that might be a problem.

have you been yet or still need advise ,as i,m local

Hi I was there last weekend spent the day on the Walls on saturday and walked the canal on sunday sadly the grey skies have not done much for the photos may have a play with turning them b&w.
