Hello all,

Doing some photos for a Musician friend-of-a-friend this weekend, need some ideas for locations please? Hylands Park woods could be nice with the Autumn colours, plus maybe the Multi-story for some urban shots.

The weather looks set to be against us :( Any tips/advise that would be great, Woods is always a fav of mine as the lighting is usually nice and the colours work well. I have a 40D and don't like going over ISO800 on it, with my 50mm 1.8, 17-55 2.8 etc so if indoors I'll need some natural light.

What type of music do they play? I know Chelmsford really well but it always helps to know what type of characters you’re matching a location to.

Thanks for the reply, Piano, I think mainly she just wants some half decent photos of herself though, for promo stuff.

Sorry forgot about this one!!

Great Baddow (just up the road from Chelmsford) offers a few olde worldy options?

Im in Chelmsford too, there are lots of car parks in town, but the one above the market is very "urban" although they have just refurbed it

I also happen to know the manageress of Hylands house which may or may not help your cause

Chelmsford high street would be cool. Lots of little side roads etc with a variation of backdrops. Plus you always have the park along the river which sometimes has its nice moments.

Women = terrible time keeping = out 2pm start = 3:30pm = less than an hour of light on an already dull day = limited!

I just went to the woods in the end, ISO800 apeture 2.5ish on the 50mm 1.8 was the order of the day :(

Just about got away with 30 ok shots.

Excuse the low-res Facebook pics, oh and I don't really know much about photoshop so they haven't been airbrushed & whatever.

Hmmm I think they look odd on here as they are low res on Facebook and I just linked the images, like 125kb and they appear smaller on FB than on here.
