Yes
Im looking for black and wite prints to be done,6 x 4 and with a disc?

I dont mind sending away to be done....

C41 or 'real' B&W?

for C41, then yes, Tesco or Asda would be a good bet (if you can find a branch that does film).
For 'real' B&W film the price starts going up. You can try Transpacolor, Peak-Imaging or Ilford Direct lab.

Check locally. I found a really good lab near where I live that does real B&W for about £3 a roll.

I see that there are several recommendations for Tesco and Asda etc for film processing. What about colour slides? Do the processors just give you a CD with images on or can you get properly mounted slides?

Alongside my DSLR I would love to start using my Pentax sFXn AF SLR again but many years ago I mostly shot slide film (AGfa and Fuji). If I remember correctly I used to buy the film with processing included so just used to shoot the roll then send it off in an envelope, I assume you can't do that anymore? (or can you?)

Hey thanks - I was surprised by that - I didn't think you could still get this type of service. Gonna buy some now

Having read the link provided by TheBigYin (thank you), why the price difference on the Fuji Sensia process-paid film? Is there a reason, and if so, is it worth it?

The fuji processed one is the kosher process paid film, with the prepaid envelope in the box, and is pretty much at list price. The other film is processed by Jessops. If I was to hazzard a guess, I'd say that the discount film place have bought up a supply of process paid envelopes from jessops - hence they were doing a special on processing the short dated velvia too... Normally you cannot get process paid Velvia

Tim, you know the chip shop nearest to the Hewitt School by the railway bridge in Norwich? Next door is Rapture Photographic... go visit the man and ask about processing - you won't regret it! (especially as he does wildlife too!)

Me too, I'm in Norwich mid April so will look him up as well.

All this mention of Tesco and Asda, might be worth a try in Jessops (after all they are a camera store) and I know the can do B+W that they send off to be processed and most stores can do quite a lot in store now also :)

My problem is that as well as being lazy, I am fussy as well!
Years ago through trial and error, and word of mouth, you found a film you liked, someone dependable and consistent to process it, and (with print film) a great printer with the magical touch to turn your average snaps into works of art ...
I want to miss out all the hard work stage and just get great results straight away! :D
