Cheap lighting?

26 watts? You'll get more light from a box of matches.

Still, it could be worth buying it for the stands and umbrellas and stick a couple of flashes behind them.
 
Might they be 26w LE bulbs - 225w normal equivalent. Is there such a thing?
 
Anyone tried these yet - they are cheap, but may be a bargain.

As was pionted out in the other thread. You can't compare the wattage to that of normal bulbs. These are the same typ as the energy efficient bulbs.

I am ordering my set imminently. My friend has them and rates them highly.
 
Cheers for the thread link - never tried studio, but wanted to play. At this price if studio is not for me then the worst that could happen is two new lamps for my music room :lol:

If your looking at getting into Studio, look at Strobist. I am about to take the plunge and get some kit to give it a go. Couldn't have done it without reading Strobists Lighting 101 first!

Yeah, I've looked at Strobist. Unless you've already got some spare flashguns lying around you'll spend a lot more gong down that route. You noticed how the price of suitable flash guns has gone up recently?
I've ordered this studio setup as it's far cheaper than anything Strobist or anyone else has come up with.
I'll let you know if it's any good or complete crap.
