Hey all,

gunna start using my flash with wildlife photography, now I’ve heard having the flash on my camera will give my animals red eye which I don’t want so need a cheap flash bracket to put on my neewer gimbal head.

So does anyone know of cheapish flash bracket? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Kind Regards
Chilt

At wildlife distances I’d suspect a flash bracket doesn’t get the lens far enough from the lens axis.

I’ll be using a better Beamer, so do you know of a cheap bracket?

Thanks

The beamer makes no difference. At typical wildlife distances getting the flash 6" to 1ft higher makes no difference to the angular offset. I just mount the flash in the camera's hot shoe (and I don't have to mess w/ a sync cable/trigger).
If you insist on using one you could easily DIY a cheap flash bracket with a inexpensive arca swiss clamp (attaches to most Gimbal's vertical arms), a cheap cold shoe, and some bar stock to make an L bracket (just bolt them all together)

The red eye is caused by the narrow angle between flash and lens. To remove red eye you need to widen the angle.
At short distances, a bracket helps widen the angle, at longer distances you need a grater distance. It’s simple logic.

I got a rogue safari stuck in one of my drawers that fits the hot shoe of most DSLR and utilises the pop up flash .used it several years ago worked very well in fact , I had to diffuse it with a cutdown milk carton . .only really good for the Likes of a 300 or 400 lens though for birds in the wood .wouldnt bother on b.i.f
