I have a spare Canon 550D that I don't use and am selling it to a friends of my wife cheap.
But me being me I cant even sell it cheap when it isn't 100% right.
The pop up flash doesn't work (this was a known problem on them).

So, can anyone recommend a cheap and cheerful flash that would fit it please.

What do you mean 'doesn't work'?

Have you checked to see if the switch on the hot shoe isn't stuck?

If not there is plenty info on here and Google about it.

If it is stuck then the camera is fooled into thinking there is something mounted on the hot shoe so won't pop the on board flash up.

Yes it's stuck. I've freed it a few time. You have to get a pin in the hot shoe and carefully lift one of the small plate on one side. I've done this a few times but as soon as a flash goes on it it locks up again. I never used it as I have a few flashes but as I'm selling it...
