Hi folks.
Looking for a replacement for my Fuji X-30 as a 2nd pocketable camera. I've a 6D for serious stuff, I just want something small for day trips. Looking to keep it under £300 used.
Any recommendations? RX100 MK3? Olympus EM10? Sony A6000?
I need a viewfinder, reasonable low light perf and to be honest I would like something that can shoot RAW but also shoots lovely JPGs (which the X30 is quite good at, to be fair).
I'd prefer non fixed lens I think provided there is a small pancake option...I also value cameras that feel like cameras..iso, shutter, aperture and not lots of clicky menus...!

What's everyone reckon?

Also any pointers on X-30 used value appreciated, eBay has some weird examples for sale at very high prices!

I've looked at this a fair bit recently and if you didn't already have one, I would say that an X30 would be high up the shortlist. Prices for them are too high in my opinion but it's simply a measure of them not being all that abundant and not really having any direct competition. I've watched a few on ebay recently, most are selling between £250 and £300.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet but my short list is something along the lines of:

LX100
OM-D E-M5 or E-M10 with some sort of pancake lens (the IBIS and larger sensor would make these excellent in low light for a small camera)
X100 - Really only the original at this budget, fixed lens and a bit slow in operation but charming and lovely images
Canon G5x - Very good. Not much to look at but does everything well.

I'm personally not a fan of many of the Sony and some of the other Panasonic models. I like retro styled cameras and nice feel. I enjoy the process as much as the final image so although stuff like the RX100 is really impressive, I've never really wanted one even though it's basically always the best answer to this question.

At the moment I have an E-M5 on loan but I'm tempted to save up a lot more pennies and go for a Pen-F or X100F, not sure yet. The Pen-F would be totally irrational but I love them.

I had RX100m3, found it a bit fiddly and didn't like the pop-up viewfinder as cute an idea as it seemed to be at the time of buying.
Panasonic LX100 I find is much nicer to use on the whole. Not a fan of its menus but you'll get over eventually.

Thanks for this. Wow, didn't know the X-30 was that desirable...good to know.

I have the rx100 mk3. Love it. Have spent more time with it this week on hols than the dslrs.

What doesn't your x30 do that you need then
