I'm looking at buying a tripod. If possible, quick release, extender thingy. If that makes sense.
to fit a canon 350d.
Buying it mainly for night time shots, but possibly for macro as well. Basically, for times when camera shake will interfere with shutter speeds.
Would like it to be able to extend to head height.

Around £20. Not looking for anything fancy, like carbon fibre or bubble levels.

Or go to Tesco`s! I paid £10 for a velbon at a flea market!

That just reminded me that I had a dream last night that I was buying a tripod and they had all of these really tiny manfrotto tripods that were about 6 inches long and would extend up to about 5 feet. It was really wobbly and unstable though so I didn't buy one.

Is that sad to dream of tripods?

Try 7day shop.
They've a whole range of cheap tripods. I got one for £15.

If you're going to go for one of the Hama ones, then you can get them from Asda's Photo Counter.

I think they're £10 from there. Cheap and cheerful and will do you for now, but at that price don't expect to use it in wind, dont expect to hang a heavy lens on it and it not droop at least a little :D
I had a Hama Star 42 for about 3-4 years until I eventually outgrew it. Certainly worth the £15 I paid for it for it to last that long.
