Changing head on the Slik Pro 330dx tripod

I am using a Slik Pro 330DX tripod and am interested in changing the head to be a ball head.

Has anyone done this and which head did you choose?

Are they easy to change?

Do they come with the toys to do the job? if not what will I need?

The wife is badgering me for Xmas ideas, I going to ask her to get me the new head so any help will be gratefully received
 
Slik Pro 400DX here now running A Benro ballhead, dead easy. Unscrew old head, screw on new head. You may need a thread adapter depending on which head you go for as the Slik only has the 1/4" thread same as cameras rather than the larger one used by most tripod heads.
 
SLIK PRO 700 DX legs here and have used all manner of heads.

Not sure about the 330DX but the 700DX has a reversible screw on the top so you can fit heads that take either size thread.

I played around yesterday there is am allen key 'bolt' through the centre of the head which seems to be the way to change the head but a size 4 key is too small and size 5 is too big, which is why i asked if any tools (size 4.5) is supplied
