Changing Background

I have some nice portrait pics of the Empire State Building but the background is dull. Can i change background to say a nice sunset colour, if so how? I have Photoshop CS4 if that helps.

Use the pen tool to cut it out, should be easy with straight lines, alter the background and paste your Empire State Building back in.

You could also mask it and do the same to the background.

The pen tool is not the easiest way for someone who may be inexperienced at photoshop, try the quick selection tool instead.

If the edges of the building look too hard, try feathering the selection by a couple of pixels.
