Thanks for the PM Jim. I was waiting to see it and as I said in my message I am not a fan of BG (Big Girl) as his style of TV is patronising to the extreme.

I will start by saying that some great things were achieved in the "mission" however as a participant in the sport this TV program was disappointing.

The engineering that went into the motors is fantastic and did not really get much focus apart from how much it was costing his relationship. Technically there was a program there in itself!

The "near-fatal" incident which BG suffered from whilst quite dramatic is fairly routine if YOU CHOOSE TO FLY BETWEEN CLOUDS (which he did and of course found the associated turbulence). You should however know how to clear a cravat (the name for the type of tangle he had) and this was not a particularly bad one although the extra weight of the over-sized motor would have made it ankle breaking territory if not "fatal".

As was said by both pilots this sport is fun and fairly easy - and not to put down the achievement in the Himalaya - but why did they let the film-makers suggest it was otherwise?
